A young woman asks for help because she can’t seem to give up her sleep for her boyfriend’s. People criticize her for wanting to stay in her own bedroom, even though it makes her feel bad. Soon, the comments section was full of people giving advice.
A woman who is 24 years old went to Reddit to ask for help.
Her 35-year-old boyfriend, who “works overnight and comes home at 4 am,” put her in a tough spot. He wants me to sleep in the living room so that “I don’t wake him up with my sleep.” His off hours are every morning from 4 am to 6 am. She is asked to leave the room so he can get some rest. She thought about whether it was selfish of her to stay in bed when he got home from work.
He says that every time she stays in the room, she’s being selfish. He says that having her in the room makes it very hot. The woman said, “Our couch isn’t big enough to lay down on (it’s more like a love seat), and the floor hurts my body too much.”
But it’s uncomfortable for her to sleep in the living room for a few more hours.
It bothers her because it’s brighter than their bedroom, which has curtains that block out light. They have an air mattress that she could sleep on, but their cat is likely to damage it. Even talked about getting a couch, but “he didn’t want the couch because, according to him, I want it.”
She feels cheated that she has to give up five to six hours of sleep every night so he can sleep for eight hours straight. She questions whether she’s right in this situation. She asks for help with how to deal with it.
