JUST IN: Suspect Identified In Cybertruck Bombing Outside Trump’s Las Vegas Property

Several senior law enforcement officials told News 5 Colorado Springs that the driver of a Tesla Cybertruck that was detonated outside President-elect Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel has been identified.

According to the unnamed law enforcement sources, the driver has been identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger. The report comes as the FBI is reportedly raiding an address in Colorado Springs, where Livelsberger had several addresses associated with his name.

The building in question has been described as a townhouse complex in the city’s Stetson Hills section. Several armored vehicles and heavily armed agents have been observed outside the building, while residents have been urged to stay away from the area. Law enforcement officials do not believe there is any threat to the Colorado Springs community as of this report.

During a news conference on Wednesday evening, Sheriff Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that the Cybertruck was rented in Colorado. The vehicle was then driven to Las Vegas, where it arrived shortly before 7:30 a.m. local time.

McMahill confirmed that the driver of the Cybertruck was killed in the explosion, while seven additional bystanders were injured.

Images of the vehicle’s trunk revealed that the explosive device was comprised of liquid fuel and fireworks. Authorities believe that the truck’s bed — which contained the improvised explosive device — was wired to detonate from the driver’s seat.

During the news conference, McMahill confirmed that state and federal law enforcement agencies are currently investigating whether there is any connection between the Cybertruck bombing and the Wednesday morning terrorist attack in New Orleans. President Biden further confirmed that the possibility is being investigated during a brief news conference from Las Vegas.

ABC News has reported that both the Cybertruck and the white pickup truck that was used in the New Orleans attack were rented through Turo. The company is a car rental marketplace that allows users to rent cars from “trusted hosts” across the United States, Canada, Australia and France, according to the app’s description on Google Play.

The New Orleans attacker — who has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar — was killed in a shootout with police after intentionally running down New Years Eve celebrants with the vehicle. Police later recovered an ISIS flag from the back of the truck, in addition to at least one improvised explosive device. Several additional devices were discovered at multiple locations within the city’s tourist hotspot, the French Quarter.

As of this report, the death toll in the New Orleans attack has risen to 15 while at least 35 additional victims were transported to area hospitals with injuries.
