President Biden will be taking time out of his last days in the White House to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and leftist billionaire financier George Soros.
The medal, which constitutes the nation’s highest civilian honor, is given to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors, the White House said in a statement.

Biden announced Friday that he had nominated 19 total recipients for the reward, four of whom will be honored posthumously. Additional nominees include Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington, U2 lead singer Bono, Argentinian soccer superstar Lionel Messi, and Bille Nye, among others. Robert F. Kennedy and Jane Goodall are among those receiving the award posthumously.
“These nineteen Americans are great leaders who have made America a better place,” the White House said in a statement. “They are great leaders because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world.”
Biden’s nomination of Soros — who has funneled billions of dollars towards left-wing politicians and social causes — was largely met with outrage on social media. Through his Open Societies Foundation, Soros has funneled more than $32 billion towards left-wing interests across the globe. His empire — which is currently being controlled by his son, Alex — has played a particularly pivotal role in electing “progressive” district attorneys in America’s major cities.
X owner Elon Musk was among those who expressed his disgust with Soros’ nomination. “A travesty that Biden is giving Soros the Medal of Freedom,” Musk posted alongside a clip from one his Joe Rogan Experience appearances in which he described Soros as a threat to humanity.
he recipients are set to receive the award on Saturday, just days after President Biden bestowed the honor upon former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) for their work on the partisan January 6 Committee. According to a recent congressional report, the committee has been accused of politicizing the committee’s work, manipulating evidence, and promoting “false claims” from former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson.
