Hi, I’m Maria, 53 years old, and celebrating 32 years of marriage

Hello, I’m Maria, 53 years old, and I’ve been happily married to my husband for 32 years. We have two daughters who have moved out.

For 15 years, my marriage was lovely, with a few small hiccups, as is typical in any relationship. In 1995, we lost our apartment due to a bank loan. Due to having two young children, we had to relocate and live with my parents.

After three years, my husband traveled to France, and I joined him, leaving our daughters in the care of my parents. We both worked for a couple of years and were able to purchase a house.

We purchased a house that was quite a distance from my parents, which meant I had to leave my husband in France while I stayed in Romania with our daughters. Throughout this period, we had phone conversations and met in person every few months.

During this period, another woman came into my husband’s life, transforming him into someone he could no longer manage.

He was impolite even to our daughters and didn’t welcome our visits. It came as a surprise to me and my youngest daughter (who still has a strong affection for my husband). I experienced a mental breakdown, lost my appetite, struggled to sleep, and felt like I was trapped in a never-ending nightmare.

As time went by, I landed a job and gradually began to move on from my past experiences. One day, my spouse lost their job, ran out of money, and requested our daughters if they could return home.

We extended a warm welcome and offered forgiveness, yet he persisted in betraying my trust. Each time I discovered his extramarital affairs because he was not good at hiding them.

He then settled down for a few years until he traveled to Africa, where he naturally met a 24-year-old woman who was younger than his own daughters. Currently residing in France, he returns home on a monthly basis, while also having a partner who is two decades his junior. Despite my discovery, he continues to deny being in this relationship.

Please, tell me what should I do?
